Full Care

Full care is the traditional environment for those who require a more comprehensive level of support. Individuals have permanent residence in a family-type home or apartment and are assisted by agency staff seven days per week during hours that the individuals are home. Through the full-care program, staff members provide hands-on assistance in all areas of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, eating, and generally caring for oneself. The level of support given is determined by the individual's needs, with the goal of creating independence in as many areas as possible.

Semi-Independent Living

Semi-independent living allows small groups of adults with developmental disabilities to live in a community setting with the help of staff who visit daily. Individuals, who may not be ready to live with maximum independence, share household duties and attend vocational training. Staff members reinforce daily living skills to help individuals achieve greater levels of autonomy. In the semi-independent living setting, staff members provide guidance and support in areas such as safety outside the home, travel, personal financial management, and community adjustment. Staff members may provide transportation for medical appointments and other activities, and they do not ordinarily stay overnight.

Supported Living

Supported living provides personalized and specific services, which are selected by the individual receiving the supports. Those who participate in this program usually live independently in the community in homes or apartments they have rented themselves. Support in such areas as community mobility, financial management, and nutrition is delivered on an as-needed basis with frequent, but not necessarily daily, contact.

Host-Home Supports

Host-home supports are provided when a family chooses to support an individual in their home, in order to provide a positive family experience for that person. In host-home situations, less than 30 hours of support per week is required.
