Community Living Specialist

The community living specialist is responsible for the general growth, development, and well being of the individuals residing in community housing provided by Mainstay Life Services. Duties and responsibilities of the community living specialist include (but are not limited to):

• Encouraging, guiding, and training individuals to develop competencies, including daily living skills, social skills, and interpersonal skills.
  
• Integrating individuals into the community by implementing recreational activities within the home and community.
  
• Providing a comfortable, clean, and safe home environment for the individuals.
  
• Developing and implementing goal plans.
  
• Maintaining the security, cleanliness, and upkeep of the home, vehicles, and equipment.

Pre-employment requirements include all of the following:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Valid Drivers' License
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
  • Application obtained during interview
• Act 34 Criminal Investigation Clearance
  • Application obtained during interview

Mainstay Life Services actively recruits for the following shifts:

• Full time afternoon shift
  
• Full time overnight shift - asleep or awake positions
  
• Full time weekend block - begin on Friday evening and work the entire weekend for full-time wages and benefits
  
• Substitute - relief pool to fill shifts (this is a non-benefit position)
